The tent fills with an illuminated haze and the electrifying riff of Blue Blood begins. On entering the tent during the Naked and Famous set, I decided it would be a good idea to be as close to the band as I could. After all, it's Foals. Where I was once 5 feet away from Yannis, the gap widened to 30. With such tame, lyrical music, you'd never think that Foals could inspire 40 year old men and teenagers alike to create mosh pits, push over 17 year old girls and just go stir shit crazy. Well think again.
The set was intense, and had no time for lagging. With the likes of Cassius, Miami, Red Socks Pugie and Two Steps Twice, each song became an anthem, with a cult-like chanting of the lyrics from new and faithful followers. The band served as a provider of a service rather than the focus of the attention. Being truthful, the main memorable thing about the band themselves, apart from the feeling of awe at their musicianship, was Jack's venture into the crowd.
If there's one thing you do with your summer, pop over to Malawi and see them play.
