You know that thing where you hear a song and become obsessed? You know the odd rhyme that you utter before the song has the chance. You don't know the words so you actually have to listen to lyrics.

That's the bit we should take hold of. 

The bit where we have to listen to what the artist is trying to say. When you have to connect the sentences and they turn out to actually go together and form a cohesive idea. You realise it all forms this story that you hadn't understood at first listen.

And then suddenly you think 'SHIT!' the artist is an actual person with actual feelings organised into (actual) unique ways that I've never really thought about. And you kind of wish you had come up with it yourself.

But that feeling doesn't last long. Because then you learn all the words and you glaze over the meaning in your haste to get all the words in the perfect order/tune/harmony/demeanor/lil wayne voice.



When you listen to Raleigh Ritchie, take hold of that bit I mentioned.
